Incorporating dual germanium diodes and square wave clipping, the controls of Balance (volume) and Expander (fuzz) combined with the two-position tone switch, this effect can be heard in the recordings of artists from Hendrix, Led Zeppeling to the Black Keys, Mudhoney, Smashing Pumpkins.
